Rumble Roses XX, A Misunderstood Game for the Xbox 360

Friday, April 4th, 2008

There is no doubt about it, this game has stunning graphics. It is clear that a large amount of work went into creating a beautiful setting (And beautiful girls) for the game. Unfortunately, the graphics only keep you stunned until you experience the difficult game-play.

Victory seems to come around when you are the first one to mash the buttons. There is little strategy in this wrestling game. There are also only a few locations to wrestle in.

There are a total of 6 places to fight, but fighting in one area is much like fighting in another, with the exception of Street Fighting, which is like a standard fighter game. Also, the Queen’s Match is just like other matches, except the loser must go through some sort of humiliation after losing. These humiliations are definitely fun to watch, as you get to choose the humiliation and the outfit the loser will wear.

You can also choose what your wrestler wears in the ring, and her physique (Yes, including Bust). But you can only modify her physique after you have fought in the ring and won a few times. The more you fight, the more you can increase her stats until they reach 100%. After you increase all of her stats to 100%, though, she may look more like a beast than a hottie wrestler. But, your beast has new and more damaging fighting moves, and can withstand more punishment.

All in all, Rumble Roses XX is fun for short periods, but gets dull if played for more than an hour in one sitting. If you keep your gameplay to about 30 minutes to an hour each time you play, you will find the experience enjoyable, and may find yourself laughing as to some of the things you can do in the ring (Or out of the ring, such as the photo shoot sessions).

Is There Really An Xbox 360 Shortage

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Is there really an Xbox scarcity? Some websites are convinced that “the whole scarcity thing is faked to incite demand.” Microsoft CFO Chris Liddell recently said to the L.A. Times that Xbox 360 supply will not catch up with demand until the second half of the fiscal year, ending June 30. Liddell told Reuters that the company expects to see more gradual Xbox 360 sales rather than a launch spike as analysts have predicted. How big of a spike was he thinking?

The original Xbox though not a financial success, changed the way we play games with new innovative features such as online gaming. The Xbox 360 will launch on November 22nd In North America. Microsoft expects to ship 4.5 - 5.5 million Xbox 360 consoles by June 2006.

Here in Canada for example, almost all retailers were sold out of both core and premium bundle pre-order packages. Then last week, Futureshop.ca (online) announces that they will be selling 20 Xbox 360’s online everyday starting at midnight. Of course locations such as Wal-Mart will have units available on November 22nd, but there is debate as to how many they will have. From one retailer to the next, there seems to be a huge discrepancy of information.

Why would a company create the illusion there is a scarcity? Microsoft knows that the media loves a good shortage. Watching people line up at the pumps when gas goes down in price is a perfect example of the power the media have when the word “shortage” is thrown around. Oil company’s have seen record breaking profits this year. Microsoft will of course make a killing in the short run, but by creating the impression that the Xbox 360 is the “hot item” this holiday season, they the want the buzz too carry over well in to the new year - at least until the competition shows up.

When asked when someone will be able to walk in to an EB Games store here in Canada and pick up an Xbox 360, one employee from Brantford Ontaro had this to say “We are talking pre-orders well in to the new year. It probably won’t be until March when you can actually walk in and pick up a new console.” That will be will be almost 4 months after the launch date.

There is no competition right now! The Xbox 360 is going to be the only next-gen console on the market, period, for the next six months at least. The PS3 wont be available until at least early spring. Why not press that advantage now, before real substitutes arrive? Microsoft knows as of right now, the Xbox 360 is the market.

This isn’t the first time we have seen such madness over a new product. The last time we had this craziness was over a toy 1996, with the Tickle Me Elmo Doll. “Tickle Me Elmo” represents an economic truth. When the demand for a product exceeded the supply, the price rose until “the market cleared.” Through the media and incredible timing, the tickle me Elmo doll was the “it” toy of 1996. On November 22nd, will the Xbox 360 create the same maddness?.

Putting economics and conspiracy theories aside, maybe just maybe Microsoft just haven’t produced enough consoles yet do to some sort of glitch. Of course in the manufacturing world, things like this happen all the time. But the discrepancy over how many consoles are available raises many doubts. Ultimately the timing could not have been better for the launch of a new console.

Xbox 360 So Hot It Can Be Liquid Cooled by Cool IT Systems

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Some of the top gammers who drive their Xbox 360 Machines hard due to their intense level of play have found themselves over heating their systems. The answer for these Top Guns of the virtual world and heroes of their own augmented reality to do? The answer is liquidity; that is to say a liquid cooled Xbox 360 system made by Cool IT Systems.

That’s right liquid cooled for those who run their machines full tilt for hours on end with the fastest and most exhilarating games. As long as they have enough brainpower and quick reflexes to go beyond what normal mortals can do, now they have a viable solution. A word of advice for those gammers, you also need to cool your human brain and feed it properly. We recommend high calorie, protein and glucose intake in an environment well ventilated with plenty of oxygen too.

Currently the standard Cool IT Systems Xbox 360 Intercooler with liquid cooling technologies uses the power from the Xbox 360, but in future models it may need to be hooked up to its own power source as the games get more robust and the gammers become even more intuitively aggressive. Xbox 360 is just too hot to handle, too hot to stay on the shelves and way too hot for Sony Play Station to ever catch a clue that they are about to be lapped. CoolIT Systems liquid cooling; install this in 2006!
